Itinerary
- Peru’s most iconic adventure begins. After picking you up at your hotel in Cusco, we’ll travel to Kilometer 82, the starting point of the legendary Inca Trail.
- The trail winds its way up through Andean ravines and ancient archaeological sites such as Llactapata, surrounded by cloud-capped mountains.
- When you arrive at the Ayapata camp (3,300 m), the cooks will welcome you with a hot dinner under a star-filled sky.
- Maximum altitude: 3,300 m
- Hike: 6–7 hours | Difficulty: Moderate
- Includes: Lunch and dinner
- The most challenging part of the trip. You’ll climb to the legendary Abra Warmiwañusca (4,215 m), the highest point on the Inca Trail.
- From there, the views of the valley are breathtaking. The descent then takes you to the Pacaymayu camp for lunch, and you’ll continue on to Chaquicocha, where the Andean silence accompanies your dinner and rest.
- Maximum altitude: 4,215 m.
- Hike: 8–9 hours | Difficulty: High.

- Time of day: Listen to the wind in the mountain pass and understand why the Incas called it “the gateway to heaven.”
- The path levels out. Amid orchids and cloud forests, you’ll visit the Sayacmarca archaeological site, perched on a cliff.
- In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at the Wiñayhuayna camp (3,650 m), where you can explore its Inca terraces and say goodbye to the porters.
- Maximum elevation: 3,650 m.
- Hike: 4–5 hours | Difficulty: Moderate.
- Includes: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Did you know that… “Wiñayhuayna” means “forever young, ” a name that captures the immortal spirit of the Andes.
- Before sunrise, we’ll hike to Intipunku (Gate of the Sun). From there, you’ll see Machu Picchu emerge from the mist: a moment you’ll never forget.
- After the guided tour of the citadel, you’ll take a bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch and buy souvenirs before taking the train to Ollantaytambo and finally returning to Cusco.
- Maximum altitude: 2,720 m
- Hike: 2 hours | Difficulty: Moderate

- Time of day: The first rays of sunlight over Machu Picchu. Words cannot describe it.
