Itinerary
- The adventure begins even before we arrive in Peru. It will be our first chance to get to know the group, share the excitement of the trip, and prepare for eight days exploring some of the country’s most iconic sites.
- Before boarding our flight, we'll hold a Travelers' Meet-and-Greet, where we'll get to know the other participants, receive a brief overview of the program, and take the official group photo.
- After that, we'll board our international flight to Lima.
- Upon our arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, our team will be waiting for the group to welcome them and provide a scenic transfer to the hotel in Miraflores.
- After check-in, we'll have some time to rest.
- One night at a hotel in Lima.
- We’ll spend our first day exploring Lima through two of its defining features: its history and its cuisine. We’ll take a journey through different eras of the Peruvian capital while enjoying some of the flavors that have made Peru an international culinary destination.
- After breakfast, we'll pick you up from the hotel to begin our experience.
- Our first stop will be the ChocoMuseo, where we'll learn more about Peruvian cacao and enjoy a chocolate tasting.
- At noon, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a selection of dishes representative of Peruvian cuisine.
- At 2:00 p.m., we'll begin our city tour of Lima, exploring two different sides of the capital:
- Miraflores, with its views of the Pacific Ocean, the Malecón, and the iconic Parque del Amor.
- Next, we'll continue on to Lima's Historic Center, designated a World Heritage Site, to explore its squares, colonial balconies, and viceregal architecture.
- We will also visit the Convent of San Francisco and its famous catacombs, one of the city's most important religious and historical sites.
- At approximately 6:30 p.m., we will finish the tour and return to the hotel.
- A Night in Lima.
- Between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Lima to begin our trip to Ica.
- Upon arrival, we will visit a traditional vineyard, where we will learn about the winemaking process and the production of Peruvian pisco, followed by a tasting.
- Afterward, we'll enjoy lunch in Ica and have a little free time to rest and take pictures.
- In the afternoon, we'll head to the Huacachina oasis, where one of the most fun experiences of the trip will begin: a buggy tour through the desert dunes.
- During the adventure, we'll stop to go sandboarding, gliding down the enormous dunes.
- The finale will be one of the most photogenic moments of the trip: we'll watch the sunset from high above the Huacachina Desert.
- Once the tour is over, we'll begin our return trip to Lima and head back to the hotel.
- A Night in Lima.
- At the scheduled time, we will provide transportation from the hotel to the Lima airport, approximately three hours before the flight's departure.
- We'll take our flight from Lima to Cusco, and upon landing, our team will meet us and take us to the hotel.
- We'll have the morning to rest and acclimate to the altitude before beginning our tours.
- At 2:00 p.m., we'll begin our Inca and Colonial City Tour, exploring some of Cusco's most iconic sites:
📍 San Pedro Market
📍 San Francisco Square
📍 Regocijo Square
📍 Plaza de Armas
📍 Qorikancha
📍 Twelve-Angled Stone
📍 San Blas Neighborhood
📍 San Cristóbal Viewpoint
📍 Sapantiana Colonial Aqueduct
📍 Sacsayhuamán
- During the tour, we'll discover how Inca and colonial architecture coexist in a city that preserves centuries of history.
- The tour will end at approximately 6:00 p.m.
- A Night in Cusco.
- We'll start early with a pickup from our hotel in Cusco.
- Our first experience will take place in Chinchero, where we will help prepare an authentic Andean pachamanca, an ancient cooking technique that involves cooking food underground using hot stones.
- Afterward, we'll enjoy our Pachamanca lunch and visit an Andean Textile Center, where we'll learn about traditional spinning, natural dyeing, and weaving techniques.
- We will continue on to Moray, famous for its impressive circular terraces associated with Inca agricultural experimentation.
- Later, we'll visit the Maras Salt Mines, an extraordinary landscape made up of thousands of salt pools carved into the mountainside.
- Our tour will continue on to Ollantaytambo, where we will board the tourist train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes).
- Arrival, settling in, and rest.
- A Night in Machu Picchu Town.
- After breakfast, we'll head to the station to board the bus that takes us up to Machu Picchu.
- Upon arriving at the citadel, we will begin a guided tour, during which we will learn about its history, architecture, and the main areas included in the reserved tour route.
- It will be time to take in one of the most famous landscapes on the planet and take photos that will serve as a memento of this adventure.
- We'll enjoy a buffet lunch at the Tinkuy Restaurant (at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge) before beginning our return trip.
- In the afternoon, we'll board the tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take us to Cusco.
- A Night in Cusco.

- During the trip, we'll stop for breakfast before continuing on to the starting point of our hike.
- We will begin the ascent to Laguna Humantay, located at approximately 4,200 m above sea level.
- The hike requires physical effort, mainly due to the altitude and the uneven terrain, so we'll proceed at the group's pace.
- When we arrive, we'll have time to take in the view of Lake Humantay, enjoy the scenery of the snow-capped Salkantay, and take pictures.
- Afterward, we'll begin our descent and head back to Mollepata, where we'll enjoy a buffet lunch.
- Finally, we will begin our return trip to Cusco, arriving there in the late afternoon.
- A Night in Cusco.
- Between 4:00 a.m . and 4:30 a.m., we will set out from Cusco.
- We'll stop in Cusipata to enjoy breakfast and then continue on to the site of our adventure.
- Before we begin, we'll receive a safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the ATVs, as well as the necessary equipment.
- We'll set out on an approximately 2-hour ATV tour through the Valle Rojo area, surrounded by mountains, Andean wildlife, and views of the majestic snow-capped Ausangate.
- Afterward, we'll take a walk of about 30 minutes to the Vinicunca viewpoint, known worldwide as the Mountain of Seven Colors.
- We'll have time to take in the scenery and take some photos before we start our return trip.
- Back in Cusipata, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch and then travel to Cusco.
- In the evening, we'll have our special Farewell Dinner, where we'll celebrate together the best moments we've shared during this expedition.

- Tips
- Layered clothing and a warm jacket: In Cusco, mornings and evenings can be cold, while temperatures can rise during the day. For Humantay and Montaña de Colores, bring an extra thermal layer.
- Poncho or waterproof jacket: March is still part of the rainy season in the Andes, so unexpected rain may occur during excursions.
- Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses: UV radiation is intense at high altitudes, even on cloudy days.
- Comfortable shoes with good traction: essential for exploring Machu Picchu and hiking to Laguna Humantay and the Mountain of Colors. Avoid wearing brand-new shoes on this trip.
- Water bottle and light snacks: Stay hydrated during excursions and bring small snacks for your hikes.
- Small backpack for tours: Pack only what you need for the day: water, a raincoat, sunscreen, a light jacket, documents, and personal items.
- A hat and gloves for high-altitude excursions: The trips to Humantay and Montaña de Colores start very early, and temperatures can get quite low.
- Passport or travel document: Always keep it safe and within reach, especially for flights, trains, and entry to Machu Picchu.
- Cash in soles: recommended for small purchases, handicrafts, tips, additional services, or establishments that do not accept cards.
- Cell phone or camera with an extra battery: the days can be long. Bring a portable battery so you don't miss the chance to capture the best moments of the trip.
- Medications and personal items: Bring your regular medications and any products you may need during the excursions, especially considering the days spent at high altitudes.
- Acclimatization and rest: When you arrive in Cusco, avoid unnecessary exertion, drink plenty of water, eat light meals, and allow your body to gradually adjust to the altitude.
- Go at your own pace: Humantay and Montaña de Colores are located at high altitudes. Walk at a leisurely pace, take breaks when you need them, and always follow the guide’s instructions.
- Be punctual throughout the trip: stick to the scheduled times for pickups, flights, trains, and admission, especially at Machu Picchu, where entry times are scheduled.
- Keep in mind that it is the Holy Week season: during this time, there may be processions, traditional celebrations, and temporary street closures, especially in Cusco. Follow the team’s instructions to make getting around easier.
- An open and respectful attitude: During the tour, you will encounter communities, traditions, and places considered sacred. Please respect local customs, natural areas, and Peru’s cultural heritage.

What Our Customers Say
EXCELLENT Based on 95 reviews Posted on TripAdvisor Caio CVerified The best experience The best company in terms of organization and punctuality, and the guides are perfect. I will definitely use their services again. As for the experience at Machu Picchu, the guide was exceptional, attentive, and very clear in his explanations—I highly recommend them.Posted on TripAdvisor Aline SVerified Excellent I can’t thank Peru Andean Exploor enough for all their care, attention to safety, and, above all, their impeccable organization. They were always very attentive, providing information in advance, and extremely punctual and clear with schedules and instructions. The hotels they chose and the restaurant reservations were excellent, and I can’t help but mention the guides: everyone who took care of us was friendly, attentive, and made our trip even more special and enchanting, beyond the beauty of the gorgeous Inca city. If I could give a thousand stars, I would do so without a second thought! If you want to explore Cusco and enjoy an experience with top-notch service, I recommend Peru Andean Exploor without hesitation!Posted on TripAdvisor Mariane SVerified Excellent A wonderful experience—everything went perfectly, and I’ll cherish this memory for the rest of my life. I highly recommend Andean’s services.Posted on TripAdvisor Gavrilo KVerified Great company I was very skeptical when I received the offer because it was 20–30% cheaper than the competition, but I found good reviews and decided to go with them. Absolutely everything went perfectly—even better than expected. I led a group of 28 people to Peru, and it wasn’t easy managing such a large group, especially since it was my first time working with this agency. However, I was truly impressed. Two people canceled the trip a month before departure, and the Machu Picchu tickets couldn’t be changed, so we had to buy new ones on the spot. The agency accompanied us from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, and then their staff welcomed us in Aguas Calientes and guided us through the process of buying tickets for the two people who joined later. Incredible service. Very professional and responsible. The guides were good, the buses/vans were good, and the price was very fair. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Highly recommended agency, and I will definitely work with them again for future tours.Posted on TripAdvisor Letícia LimaVerified An incredible and safe experience I highly recommend Andean Exploor. From the moment I arrived in Peru, I was assisted by Yolanda (who helped me book the package). I received full support with transportation for the tours and to the airports, as well as tours that included admission and meals—all while feeling completely safe. They took care of all the logistics for me, and the experience was absolutely worth it. Communication is clear and straightforward, and when any normal travel hiccups arise, we have direct support from them.Posted on TripAdvisor Lisette GVerified An excellent experience Yolanda, the coordinator, was always on top of everything, and the guides and drivers were very punctual and responsible.Posted on TripAdvisor Caroline FVerified A smooth tour and an amazing time!! The tour went extremely smoothly, from the pickup in Cusco to the train station and all the way to the town outside Machu Picchu. My tour guide, John, was so funny and really knowledgeable, and he made the whole experience amazing.Posted on TripAdvisor Luana DVerified Very organized and welcoming Very good, I recommend it. Very organized. Very attentive.Posted on TripAdvisor Erica SVerified Machu Picchu An amazing experience.
