Itinerary
- We are welcomed to the rhythm of the community's traditional music by the Varayoc, the traditional authority of Umasbamba.
- At the community center, we introduced ourselves to one another—name and country of origin—while sharing a welcoming cup of muña mate.
- Our hosts dress us in the community’s traditional attire: a poncho and a chullo for the men, and a blanket and a montera for the women. From that moment on, we are part of Umasbamba.
- We visited the farm and helped with seasonal tasks: planting, tending crops, harvesting, mowing the grass, gathering firewood, and feeding small animals such as guinea pigs and chickens.
- Textile art demonstration: shearing wool, dyeing, warping, designing, and weaving.
- Traditional lunch; choose from two set menus when you make your reservation.
- Free time to shop for local textiles and traditional products.
- A farewell set to the rhythm of the community's music.
