In Umasbamba, textiles keep the community’s history and traditions alive. Guided by a master artisan, you’ll learn the Andean textile-making process—from wool to the loom—and create your own piece to take home as a souvenir. A private experience to connect with the authentic art of the Andes.

Itinerary
- We are welcomed to the rhythm of the community's traditional music by the Varayoc, the traditional authority of Umasbamba.
- At the community center, we introduced ourselves to one another—name and country of origin—while sharing a welcoming cup of muña mate.
- The weavers show us the entire process leading up to weaving: shearing the wool, dyeing it with natural dyes, warping, designing, and weaving.
- Let's get started: With the help of a master artisan, you'll weave your own piece—it could be a bracelet, a belt, or a keychain.
- We shared an Andean snack: boiled potatoes, cheese, mote, popcorn, mini corn tortillas, and small pieces of roasted guinea pig.
- Free time to shop for textiles and souvenirs made by the community.
- A farewell set to the rhythm of music and the sound of the pututo.
