Itinerary
- The day before, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 8:00 p.m. to take you to the bus terminal, where you’ll board your tourist bus from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (sleeper bus with seats that recline 160°).
- We'll pick you up at the bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado and take you to the port.
- After a 15-minute ride by motorboat down the Madre de Dios River, we arrive at the lodge, where you’ll settle into your bungalow.
- Accompanied by your guide, you'll explore the trails around the lodge to learn about the area's flora and fauna.
- After lunch, we sailed for 20 minutes to Monkey Island to observe the different species that live there.
- As night falls, we head out with flashlights in search of capybaras and caimans: you'll see the red glow of their eyes while your guide tells you all about them.
- Return to the lodge and overnight stay.
- From the lodge, we took a 10-minute boat ride to the entrance to Lake Sandoval.
- We entered the Tambopata National Reserve with a hike of about 1 hour, and then boarded a canoe to explore this beautiful lake, home to numerous birds and animals.
- We returned to the lodge for lunch, and then got ready to head back to Puerto Maldonado, where we’ll go to the bus terminal to board the sleeper bus bound for Cusco.
- A night aboard the sleeper bus.
- The tour ends with the return transfer to Cusco.
